Daisy Rain Studio
Daisy Rain Studio is a collaboration between Sydney Craft and Danny Kitchen. It is a queer owned, woman owned, independent art studio based out of Rochester, NY in the Neighborhood of the Arts. It is based in Village Gate, which is just across the street from the Memorial Art Gallery.
What we’re about
We believe that everyone can and should make art, and that the world would be a more beautiful place if they did.
Danny teaches tufting classes that require zero artistic background and they like to make emotional art that clashes with the softness of their rugs.
Sydney uses their art skills to lead others through self exploration in Art Therapy and enjoys using their sewing machine to make quilts and other textiles from both new and found materials.

If you pay extra to bring a friend, you will both work with the same tufting machine on the same frame and take turns. You can either work on one medium sized rug together or two smaller sized rugs of your own.

A bit larger than 1.5ft x 1.5ft.

All materials are provided! You can bring a design you found ahead of time or pick one at the class.
If you have a specific color that your design will need, you can either bring it yourself or request it before the session. For this, please contact Danny at their Instagram @kitchyart or at kitchyart58@gmail.com.

Generally, it’s best to stick to 2-5 colors and avoid any sort of shading since this is a beginner class. Vectorized images and simple illustrations work best, but we can always make something else work by removing details.

Your rug will be finished within 2-4 weeks.
